 All About Us

      Acknowledgement of Country

All children and staff from Manly West Outside School Hours Care say thank you to the Quandamooka People, the traditional owners of the land where we live, learn and play.

We pay our respects to the Elders before, now and in the future and hope their strength and wisdom guide us while we share this land.

We promise to look after the animals, the sea and care for the country too.

Welcome to Manly West Outside School Hours Care, our educators look forward to caring for your children and forming meaningful and lasting relationships with you and your family.

Your Nominated Supervisor is Emily Thompson, who has completed her Certificate 3 and her Diploma in Children’s Services. Emily has 16 years’ experience in the child care sector.

Our service is licensed for 123 children. We are an approved service provider and are regulated under the NQF. Our center is currently MEETING all of the NQS areas.

Our vision for Manly West Outside School Hours Care is to provide a quality learning environment which is accessible, inclusive and consists of play and leisure-based activities.

We believe that children have the right to choices, we value their opinions and always give them a voice about their time at OSHC. Through our positive interactions and collaboration with our children at OSHC, we endeavour to build respectful and trusting relationships with all our children.

As part of ongoing continuous improvement here at Manly West OSHC, we actively encourage community and family involvement within our service. We encourage families to share their own experiences, culture and interests and strive to build supportive relationships with all families.

We believe that knowledge obtained from diverse backgrounds encourages children’s respect and understanding of each other’s individuality.

We strive to provide a stimulating, happy, safe and inclusive environment for all our children. This promotes independence and creativity, allowing children to make their own choices and facilitating the opportunity to do so.

We acknowledge the importance of incorporating sustainable practices to help promote an environmentally conscious OSHC community. Children are supported to become environmentally responsible and show respect for their environment

We strive to be able to reflect and be critical about the ways in which we support children’s wellbeing and development, to always strive to enhance their life skills through play, leisure and learning.
